Black Friday 11/25/11:
Black Friday is the day after the Thanksgiving Holiday, which many folks also have off, and is traditionally known as the beginning of the Christmas Holiday shopping season. (Think Thanksgiving Day parade with Santa!) Here are a few things to keep in mind before you do your spending. Big box retailers rarely know their customers. Big Box retailers often don't know their merchandise. Good luck finding parking. They may expand their hours and lower their prices but be prepared to wait in a LONG line to check out!

Small Business Saturday 11/26/11:
In an effort to compete with the big box stores on Black Friday American Express has dubbed the following day "Small Business Saturday" in an effort to encourage American's to also do some shopping at their locally owned retailers. Jammin Kids Music Center is also participating by offering a 10% discount on all merchandise on Sat. 11/26/11! Why? Here are some of the benefits of "buying locally". Local businesses reinvest in the local economy 60% more than chains. Small businesses account for 75% of all new jobs in the country and also account for over half of all U.S. workers. Shop smart this season!
